Mission Statement Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) serve the information, cultural, learning, and leisure needs of an increasingly diverse population, offering every member of our community full access to all our services. Membership Advantages Members of a public library have unrivalled access throughout their lives to books, films, and music � all free of charge. There's no cost to join, borrow materials, access the ELibrary, or get help from staff. The Smart VPL Library Card VPL launched the system-wide use of the "Smart Card" in March 2002. As well as checking out materials, the new Library Cards allow members to charge money to their card which can be used to pay fines, use printing facilities, or make purchases at the library. York Public Libraries Network As a member of VPL, you may also apply for free membership with Aurora, Richmond Hill, Markham, and Newmarket Public Libraries.
